- Kurisumasu omedetô gozaimasu: marry christmas.
- Shinnen omedetô gozaimasu: happy new year.
- Shôgaku-shikin omedetô gozaimasu: happy getting bursary.
- Kekkon-shiki omedetô gozaimasu: happy married.
b. Regret
- Shifsurei shimasu: I am sorry.
- Gomen nasai: I am sorry.
- Osoku natte sumimasen: I am sorry, late.
c. Thanks
- Arigatô gozaimasu: Thank you.
- Dômo arigatô gozaimasu: Thank you very much.
- Dô itashimashite: You’re welcome.
